Privacy Policy

Emoji Explorer (https://emojiexplorer.com) is operated by WRUFF GK (WRUFF合同会社). Contact details are in our Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice: https://wruff.com/specified-commercial-transactions

Using Emoji Explorer

Emoji Explorer works entirely in your browser. Your searches stay on your device: your search text is kept in the page URL after the "#", so it appears in your browser history and in any link you copy, but it is never sent to us or to Google. When you copy an emoji or a link, it is copied to your clipboard on your device. The emoji you open is kept in the page URL, so it appears in your browser history and in links you share, and it reaches our hosting provider when you open it. The site has no accounts, shows no ads, and never asks for your name, email, or other personal details.

Sharing

If you use a share button under an emoji, it opens Facebook, X, Reddit, LinkedIn or WhatsApp in a new tab, or a new message in your email app, with the address of that emoji's page filled in. Nothing is sent to these services until you press a button; after that, that service's own privacy policy applies. "Copy" copies the address to your clipboard on your device.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. It runs only after you accept it in our consent banner, so our legal basis is your consent; if you decline, it doesn't run. Once accepted, it sets cookies and sends Google (United States) your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you visit, and your approximate location. It records page views only. The page address is cut off before any "?" or "#", but the page title names the emoji you open (for example "😀 – Grinning face"), so Google can see which emoji pages are viewed. Google isn't told which emoji you copy or share, or what you search for. Google Signals and ad personalization are turned off. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage for up to 12 months, and you can change it anytime with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of each page; withdrawing stops Analytics and deletes its cookies. Feedback

If you use the "Send Feedback" link, it opens a Google Form with this site's name filled in. Anything you submit is sent to Google (United States) and to us, and we use it only to improve our sites. Please don't include personal details you don't want to share. Google's privacy policy applies to the form.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, which may be located in a country other than your home country, may log IP addresses and similar request details as part of running and securing the site, and may set a strictly necessary security cookie to block automated abuse. We don't use this information for anything. (For EU/UK visitors, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure.)

Questions and complaints

To ask about your data, contact us through the link above. EU and UK visitors may also contact or lodge a complaint with their data protection authority.

Changes

We'll update this policy before adding anything else that collects information.
